5 tasks every small business should automate with AI first
"Use AI" is not a strategy. Pick a handful of repetitive tasks. These five are the usual starting order.
1. Lead follow-up
A lead at 9pm should not wait until the next afternoon. Capture it, draft the reply, and let a person send it.
2. Customer-support triage
Most inbound questions repeat. Draft from your own help content. Route the odd ones to a person with the context attached.
3. Data entry and reconciliation
Copying numbers between a store, a spreadsheet, and an accounting tool is overhead. Extract, check, move, and flag what does not match.
4. Drafts you already publish
AI is useful for first drafts of posts and captions you were going to write anyway. You pick the topics, you approve the draft, you publish. That machine stays with you. Tekefy does not sell social scheduling or SEO as a service.
5. Reporting
If Monday morning is the same deck, assemble the draft automatically. A person still adds the judgement.
Where it is still the wrong tool
Be skeptical of anything that replaces judgement on rare, high-stakes decisions: hiring, pricing strategy, legal calls. Point automation at repetitive, well-defined work first.
The right question isn't "what can AI do?" It's "what am I doing every week that I'd rather never do again?"
